Oluoch Retains Presidency As Kenya National Paralympics Go To Polls

NAIROBI, Kenya- The Kenya National Paralympic Committee (KNPC) will hold their elections on Friday in Nairobi.

The polls, to be conducted at the Kenya National Sports Council boardroom located at the historic Nyayo National Stadium, will see KNPC President Agnes Oluoch retain her seat unopposed.

Oluoch said the exercise that will kick off at 10am will be presided over by African Paralympic Committee and International Paralympic Committee representatives to ensure free and fairness.

Apart from Oluoch, others set to retain their seats are Treasurer Lenar Marita and Women Representative Anna Ngendo.

 Oluoch has also announced changes on some posts stating that the federation will no longer do with the Deputy Secretary and the Assistant Treasurer positions.

Grace Wahura and Stanley Mutuma are expected to stage a dog fight against each other in the race for the Secretary General title.

Rivaling trio Alfred Simiyu, Elijah Aliero, and Bhaveet Chudasama will also battle for the Vice Presidency.

The KNPC is an umbrella encompassing various federations among them:

1.            Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation of Kenya

2.            Kenya Sports Association for the Visually Impaired

3.            Wheelchair Basketball Federation of Kenya

4.            Sitting Volleyball Federation of Kenya

5.            Kenya Boccia Sports Federation

6.            Wheelchair Rugby Union of Kenya

7.            Kenya Lawn Tennis Federation of Kenya

9.            Kenya Taekwondo Federation

10.          Kenya Cycling Federation

11.          Wheelchair Curling Federation of Kenya
