NAIROBI, Kenya- Football Kenya Federation (FKF) on Monday officially unveiled the five electoral board members who will oversee the forthcoming football elections set for December this year.
The members to be based at Kandanda House in Kasarani, Nairobi are Hesbon Owilla (Board Chairman), Marceline Sande (Board Secretary) and board members Alfred Nganga, James Waindi and Dan Mule.
The board pledged to deliver a free, fair, credible, just, transparent and verifiable elections in the polls they said will be held not later than December 15.
“We have already understood the assignment before us and I’m confident the line up that I’m headlining will deliver. We will ensure the election process runs to its conclusion,” Owilla told Standard Sports.
Owilla said they are committed to deliver what Kenyan football stakeholders will be proud of even in coming years.
He said the onus is on the board to ensure contestants get a just and transparent election process that is aligned to their will.
“We have met, packed ideas and are united to deliver in such a way that we will hold high standards of integrity to ensure every vote counts in these elections,” Owilla reiterated.
The board stated the detailed road map for the election will be published on their website in the coming days.
They dismissed the recent move to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) by one of the presidential contestants, Sammy ‘Kempes’ Owino as mere speculation since the board has not been served by any judicial orders.
Owino said he presented a petition to the CAS court in Switzerland to challenge some of the electoral codes passed during FKF Special General Meeting held in Nairobi last month, among them the need for contestants to have been involved in Kenyan football for two years before they contest for any position in the coming football polls.
