Muthaiga To Host 300 Golfers For Post-Connected Africa Summit 2024 Tournament

NAIROBI, Kenya- Muthaiga Golf Club will be hosting the Post-Connected Africa Summit 2024 Golf Tournament this Saturday with over 300 golfers expected to tee-off from 6:00 am.

This event comes at the backdrop of the concluded Africa’s ICT premier event, the Connected Africa Summit 2024 which was held at Uhuru Gardens Nairobi from the 21st April to 24th April this year. The event will convene participants from the private sector, business leaders and government representatives.

The Principal Secretary, State Department of ICT and Digital Economy, Eng. John Tanui is expected to join fellow golfers representing ICT Authority, Telkom, Danco/Pavicon Group, Safaricom and NCBA Bank among other partners of the Summit in the tournament.

Expressing his anticipation for the tournament, Stanley Kamanguya, CEO of the ICT Authority said, “This tournament, presents a unique opportunity for networking among like-minded ICT industry professionals and policymakers from across Africa which will offer another opportunity to carry on the discussions from the successful Connected Africa Summit 2024.”

“Our goal is to continue fostering meaningful interactions in a relaxed environment after the Summit as we officially drive on the planning of Connected Africa Summit 2025 which we launched on Friday. Moreover, we aim to showcase Kenya’s exceptional golfing experience. We eagerly await the tournament and extend a warm welcome to all our guests.”

Highlighting the successes of the 2024 summit and the expectation of the 2025 Summit, Kamanguya had this to say:  “This continental Summit, under the Ministry of Information, Communication and Digital Economy gave us the Nairobi Declaration. This was a huge success, but we need to take it to another level. The 2025 Summit will aim to accelerate the conversations of ICT across Africa and we are looking for more impact as we showcase what each country has to offer.”

Held under the theme “Shaping the Future of a Connected Africa: Unlocking Growth Beyond Connectivity”, the Connected Africa Summit 2024, was a high-level forum for key African Policy and decision-makers aimed at shaping the future of Africa’s Digital Economic Landscape. The Summit was built on the achievements of the Connected Summit which has for the last 14 years convened top global ICT leaders and policymakers to champion innovative ideas and partnerships that leverage technology.

The newly appointed Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of ICT and Digital Economy, Dr. Margaret Nyambura, is expected to take part in the tournament, among other top leaders.

The tournament is an opportunity for key stakeholders to network, unwind, and build relationships outside the summit, and chat new paths in the ever-changing digital landscape, all while engaging in the sport.
