From Normal Athuman To Millionaire Athuman Likoni Storekeeper Boasts After Bumper 26 Million SportPesa Midweek Jackpot Win

NAIROBI, Kenya-Athuman Salim has seen his dreams turn into reality after officially being presented with his over 26 million SportPesa Midweek Jackpot winnings on Monday 8 July 2024.

Having been one of the two winners to bag the overall Ksh. 53,736,269 SportPesa Midweek Jackpot back in June, the 42-year-old finally got ahold of his cheque 18 days later having taken his sweet time to process the magnitude of his windfall victory.

The Likoni storekeeper, who walked away with Ksh. 26,868,134 after correctly predicting the outcome of all 13 games in the midweek jackpot, enjoyed VIP treatment on his way to the SportPesa offices as he traveled in a limousine with police escort paving the way for him.

Speaking during the official presentation ceremony, Athuman expressed his immense delight to leading online gaming firm SportPesa for enabling him to join its distinguished and cherished list of millionaires.

“I am very happy today because I have come to collect my SportPesa Midweek Jackpot win which has enabled me to change my name from just Athuman to millionaire Athuman,” the father of two said jubilantly.

Athuman, ordinarily an Italian fan in the footballing world, ditched his support for the Azzuri on the day his win was confirmed as he supported Spain in the last match on his betslip, a decision that turned prophetic as Riccardo Calafiori’s unfortunate own goal for the Italians confirmed his millionaire status.

“To be honest, I was tensed after realizing that I was only one game away from winning the SportPesa Midweek Jackpot. I could not even eat before that Spain versus Italy game in the Euros.

Normally, I support Italy but for the sake of winning, I put my partisanship aside and had to back Spain because I had placed my bet on them. Immediately they won, I got around four consecutive messages from SportPesa congratulating me and I think I let out what must be the biggest scream in my life. I was so happy,” Athuman narrated.

After claiming his biggest win yet at SportPesa, Athuman revealed that he intends to seek solid advice on how to spend his money since his initial plan had not factored winning such a huge amount.

“I already had plans before, but they were not for such an amount. I need to go back to the drawing board and get sound advice because this money is a lot and if I just spend it without proper planning then it will be over even before I realize it.

I am just thankful to SportPesa because I had belief that my life would change one day because of the jackpot. Right now, this win will not only change my life but also my family and those who depend on me,” he concluded.

Athuman vowed to keep fighting for more as he promised to try his luck in the SportPesa Mega Jackpot which now stands at over 370 million.
