Sitambili Shines Bright In Sakaja Super Cup: Group Stage Thriller Concludes

NAIROBI, Kenya- In a breathtaking finale to the group stage of the Sakaja Super Cup, Sitambili from Kibra Sub County stole the spotlight with an emphatic 6-0 victory over neighborhood rivals Uweza FC. The Toi Primary School Grounds witnessed a masterclass performance, marking the culmination of fierce competition as teams battled for a coveted spot in the final match in week five.

Adding to the spectacle, Kibera Golden emerged triumphant with a convincing 2-0 win over Mashimoni, while InterBase FC showcased their prowess with a 3-1 triumph against Laini Saba in Group C. Katwekera All-Stars sealed the deal with a solid 2-0 victory against Upper Karen at Toi Primary grounds.

Starehe Sub County provided its share of drama at Landmawe grounds, where Flat Tornadoes engaged in a five-goal thriller against Riverbank. Despite an early lead from Derrick Ajwang and Mario Musyoti, Flat Tornadoes succumbed to a narrow 3-2 defeat as Calistus Shironye and Roberto Mahendo extended Riverbank’s dominance. Flat Tornadoes fought valiantly, with Ken Mboya netting a second goal in the 70th minute.

In Zone A, Kawasaki secured a walkover win after the Ziwani Allstars failed to honor their final fixture. Ngara Allstars settled for a 1-1 draw with Nairobi Holding Unit, while Macmillan FC and Korogez played to a thrilling 2-2 draw, keeping fans on the edge of their seats.

Embakasi North Sub-County witnessed Dandora Fullnesco emerging victorious in the Dandora derby with a resounding 2-0 win. Meanwhile, Dandora Maono secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Dandora Phase 2. Kariobangi Sports triumphed with a 2-1 win against Dandora Hotspurs, and Kariobangi Stars defeated Dandora Mamba 2-0.

Jaba FC displayed their dominance with a commanding 5-2 victory over Iraks Foundation in a high-scoring match in Embakasi South Sub County. In Embakasi East Sub-County, Kamongo suffered a 1-2 loss to Sun City, Reuben United secured a 2-0 win over Bokastars, Shofco Mukuru defeated Cyprus 2-0, and Legends played to a thrilling 2-2 draw with Corinthians. Morefire secured a 2-1 win against Young State, adding to the adrenaline-fueled encounters.

Ruaraka Sub-County witnessed Baba Dogo United overcoming Lucky Summer All Stars 2-1, while Korogocho United secured a 2-0 win over Ajax Rock City. Kasarani witnessed Leventis dominating with a ruthless 4-0 victory against Midhill, while Reliable Base and Terror Squad played out a goalless draw. Mathre Flames secured a narrow 1-0 win against Lucky Summer Warriors, and Team Unfit triumphed with a 2-1 win over West Life in Embakasi East Zone C.

Bromley FC enjoyed a goal-filled day in Embakasi East, putting four past their opponents, while Real Soweto and Savanna Boda played to a goalless draw. Babadogo Babes secured a 2-0 victory against Ruaraka Sports, solidifying their position in the competition.

However, drama unfolded at Muhuri Muchiri grounds in Kasarani Sub County as both Amosanders FC and Maili Saba failed to honor their fixture, mirroring the situation with Shrink Pack and Stamford.

The stage is set for the grand finale of the Sakaja Super Cup, sponsored by the Sakaja Foundation in collaboration with the Nairobi City County government and the Football Kenya Federation. The champions will be competing for a prestigious top prize of Ksh 3 million, while the runners-up and third-place finishers will receive 2 million and 1 million shillings, respectively. The soccer spectacle promises to deliver excitement and passion as the journey to glory continues.
