Tusker Sets Out To Reclaim League Glory

NAIROBI, Kenya- Tusker FC is set to embark on the 2024/25 Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) season with high ambitions and renewed determination to reclaim the league title they last won two seasons ago.
The twelve-time Kenya Premier League champions host Sofapaka FC at the Machakos Stadium on Saturday, 24th August 2024 for their season-opening match starting at 4 PM.
Tusker have beefed up their squad for the upcoming season with 11 players spread across different positions and held a residential training camp in Uganda for one week at the start of August.
The 11 players are goalkeeper Joseph Ochuka, defenders Alex Onchwari, George Kaddu, Dennis Wanjala, and Yussuf Mainge. In midfield, the Brewers have promoted the promising Teddy Onyango Dok from the club’s youth team.
In attack, the club has brought in 19-year-old Ryan Ogam, seasoned Ugandan striker Boban Zirintusa, Jacob Onyango, together with wingers Eric Naaman Balecho and Thomas Omole
The club’s bosses have expressed confidence in the team’s preparedness, highlighting the depth of the squad and the quality of training sessions leading up to the season opener, drumming up their support for the team.
Kenya Breweries Managing Director Mark Ocitti said: “We are committed to continuing our support to this club and we are sure that we will enjoy more success. They have brought us glory before and we know they will bring glory again, not just locally but also across the border.”
Coach Charles Okere said: “The players have shown that they want to win and that is something that is very motivating to the team. We have received good support from our management in our pre-season preparations, throughout all the six weeks of our pre-season, and we are set to go. Winning the first match will be very important for the whole Tusker family as it will set the mood for our 2024/25 season.”
While in Uganda, Tusker played three international club friendly matches against Bright Stars, Kitara FC, and Lugazi FC, winning the first two in an identical 1-0 scoreline while drawing the third match 1-1.
This was an extension of their near-perfect pre-season friendly matches engagement having beaten a Dandora Combined side 3-0 before hammering Vihiga 4-0 earlier in August.
After the encounter with league Sofapaka, Tusker will then take on Kariobangi Sharks, Kakamega Homeboyz, and Kenya Police FC in September
