Turkish Airlines, Veuve Clicquot Clinch Victories In Thrilling 7-Goal Polo Tournament At Nairobi Club

NAIROBI, Kenya- The highly anticipated 7-Goal Polo Tournament concluded in spectacular fashion over the weekend at the Nairobi Polo Club, with Turkish Airlines and Veuve Clicquot emerging as champions in fiercely contested matches.

In Match 1 of the tournament, Turkish Airlines secured a commanding 7-3 victory over Lite Blue, thanks to an impressive performance by Mauricio Andre and Bobby Karia, both of whom played pivotal roles in their team’s success. The fast-paced match saw Turkish Airlines take control early, maintaining their lead throughout despite a valiant effort from Lite Blue’s star player, Mbu Ngugi, who managed to score 2 goals for his team.

The tournament finale saw Veuve Clicquot go head-to-head with Tusker Malt in a dramatic 6-5 victory. The match was a true spectacle of skill and resilience, with Alexander Watson and Julian Cattin leading the charge for Veuve Clicquot. Tusker Malt’s Dirk Van Reenen put on an incredible show, scoring 3 goals, but his efforts were not enough to overcome the precision and teamwork displayed by Veuve Clicquot. The final moments of the match were intense, with both teams pushing hard, but Veuve Clicquot held firm to clinch the title.

The SBM Bank-sponsored tournament drew hundreds of enthusiastic spectators, who were treated to a weekend of high-octane polo action. The weekend tourney marked the third event of the 2024/2025 Nairobi Polo Season.
