The ICC 2027 World Cup Qualifiers: Denmark Beat Kenya

NAIROBI, Kenya- Denmark beat Kenya by four wickets in the ongoing 2027 ICC World Cup Qualifier League A tournament at the Nairobi Gymkhana on Sunday.
The visitors won the toss and elected to bowl, scoring 272 runs, losing six wickets in 49.3 overs. Kenya had 268 runs, losing six wickets in 50 overs.
Zaheer Khan and Surya Anand led the assault for Denmark on 75 runs off 83 balls apiece with other greatest contributors being Hamid Shah 51/77 and Taranjit Singh 35/44. Khan also bagged the man of the match award.
Once again, Rakep Patel starred for Kenya for the second time missing to score a century by 15 runs off 70 balls. Pushkar Sharma also gave good account for himself as he contributed 60 runs off 75 balls for the hosts.
Other greatest contributors for Kenya in the match played in an almost overcast skies were Sachin Bhudia 54/54 and Irfan Karim 31/71.
“It was a tough game for both sides but we managed to pull it out in the dying moments, I’m happy with the award I have been accorded,” Khan stated.
The tournament takes a rest on Monday before it resumes on Tuesday with Kuwait taking on Jersey as Qatar tackle Papua New Guinea. Kenya will take to the pitch on Wednesday against Kuwait.
The qualifiers is a three round league series with top two teams proceeding for the World Cup playoffs. The 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup will be co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.
The 14th edition of the Cricket World Cup will mark the second time that South Africa and Zimbabwe will have co-hosted the tournament, after the 2003 edition, while Namibia will host it for the first time.
Kenya is also slated to host the ICC T20 World Cup African Qualifiers next month in Nairobi.
