Nock- Tight Security At Buntwaani Beach Games
MALINDI, Kenya- With one day to go to the Inaugural Kenya Beach Games, security at Buntwaani Waterfront Park, Malindi has been heightened with over 700 athletes and 200 officials confirmed for the Games scheduled for 18th and 19th March 2022.
The Secretary-General Francis Mutuku speaking while taking the OCPD through the grounds spoke on security.
“As NOC-K we are here to ensure that our players and officials are safe and secure and they fully focus on playing. That is the only reason all these players are here.” He said.
Mr. John Kemboi, SSP, sub-county police commander, Malindi assured the members of the fourth estate of maximum security.
“People of Malindi, are peaceful people who enjoy sports, they love fun, and the beach and they certainly enjoy visitors and offer visitors great hospitality. However, I can assure NOC-K and the Malindi Public that I have gone around the Park and all systems are set. Policemen will be deployed here to ensure security has gone a notch higher”
After a soccer tournament held by the county yesterday for a set run, the security guards and Policemen held a briefing with the management of the park and NOC-K, and groups of security agents have been selected for each sport.
Frisking and screening will be done at the gate before the public enters the Park.
