KCB Ladies In Search Of Glory At The Eldoret City Volleyball Tourney
ELDORET, Kenya- KCB Women’s Volleyball Team Head Coach Japheth Munala has expressed confidence in his squad ahead of the Eldoret City Volleyball Tournament expected to serve off tomorrow at the Eldoret National Polytechnic.
The Kenya national defending champions will face stiff competition in the tournament that has attracted over 100 teams from Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
“We are ready to hit the ground running in this prestigious tournament that will see our team compete against the best teams from the East African region. This event will be a good test for our players who have shown tremendous improvement recently. We have trained very well for the competition, and anyone can be called upon to represent the badge,” noted KCB’s Head Coach Japheth Munala.
Setter Sheila Wabwile, who recently joined the Munala-led side from Kwanthanze Secondary School will feature for the bankers who lost the services of Immaculate Nekesa who has joined rivals Kenya Pipeline.
The team’s chances in the competition, in its second edition, have been bolstered by the return of Phosca Kasisi who had been sidelined for a long time with a knee injury.
Speaking at Eldoret National Polytechnic during a training session earlier today, captain Edith Wisa said: “The team’s confidence is high, and we cannot wait to take on our opponents in this tournament to prove our class against the best in Kenya and the region. We are happy to incorporate youngster Sheila Wabwile into the squad. We will help her develop as she also helps us to achieve our goals.”
Currently, the bankers are topping the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) league standings with 12 points after two rounds played so far. They were earlier handed a walkover after Nairobi Water failed to show up for today’s fixture.
