Inter-Parliamentary Games: Kenya Tops Darts Championship

MOMBASA, Kenya- Kenya finished top as curtains came down on darts at the Aga Khan Academy at the ongoing East African Community Interparliamentary Games that are ongoing in Mombasa.
Kenya bagged gold in the Team Event to stamp authority in the discipline. Tanzania settled for silver while Uganda had bronze in the race for the darts supremacy. This is the first time Kenya is dominating the Team title.
On individual front, Turbo Member of Parliament (MP) Janet Sitienei won silver in the women’s standing darts after edging Jesca Ababiru of Uganda 2-1, Khadija Taya of Tanzania 2-0 before going down 2-0 to Khamis Mwantatu of Tanzania. Mwantatu won gold in the category as Abairu settled for bronze.
In men’s standing darts, Kenya’s George Mbugua struck bronze as Tanzania’s Ally Mwata and Mumali Mpindi of Uganda settled for gold and silver in that order.
