Driftwood Sevens Receives Sh3 Million Sponsorship Boost From KBL

NAIROBI, Kenya- Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL), through its flagship brand Tusker, has today announced a Ksh. 3 million sponsorship for the fifth round of the 2024 National Sevens Circuit, the Driftwood Sevens. The highly anticipated tournament will take place at the Mombasa Sports Club this weekend on 7th-8th September 2024.
This sponsorship follows similar contributions by the brand to the Dala Sevens, where Kabras Sugar RFC triumphed over Menengai Oilers with a 24-5 victory in the finals held at Jomo Kenyatta Stadium, Kisumu, and the recently concluded Kabeberi Sevens, where KCB RFC claimed a dominant 29-7 win against Menengai Oilers in a thrilling final at the RFUEA Grounds.During the sponsorship announcement, KBL Acting Director of Marketing,

Kenya Rugby Union Commercial Director Harriet Okach expressed his gratitude to KBL: “We are delighted to have Tusker on board once again for Driftwood Sevens. We anticipate welcoming at least 3,000 fans who will cheer on their favorite teams over the two-day event.”
Following the Kabeberi Sevens, Kenya Harlequin has accumulated 17 points, bringing their season total to 75 points and securing the top spot on the leaderboard. This performance builds on the 58 points they earned in the first three tournaments. Kabras RFC has dropped to second place with 73 points, having missed the semi-finals and finishing sixth in Kabeberi.
KCB Rugby now holds third place with 67 points, boosted by their first Cup win of the 2024 National Sevens Circuit. Menengai Oilers, having reached back-to-back finals this season, are fourth with 60 points and remain strong contenders for the overall title.
The Catholic Monks, in impressive form, have moved to fifth place with 55 points following a fourth-place finish at Kabeberi Sevens, while MMUST and Nondies occupy the sixth and seventh positions with 49 and 44 points, respectively.
