NAIROBI, Kenya- Webuye West Constituency has come up with a formidable football outfit, the JW Foundation FC, which is currently the talk of the region.
The new kid on the block, already causing airwaves in Western, was formed during the Joseph Lendrix Waswa Football Tournament held over the Christmas festivities that attracted hundreds of teams from the zone.
Only best players from the hotly contested tournament were picked to form the JW Foundation FC which seeks to market and give grassroots players exposure.
A chunk of the players tapped from the tournament came from Webuye based sides that included Webuye Sportiff FC, Sitikho FC, Matulo FC, Bokoli Jua Kali FC and Misikhu FC.

In order to take grassroots football to the next level, JW Foundation FC set a grand tour of Nairobi City this week where they held friendly matches against several Kenyan Premier League (KPL) and National Super League (NSL) sides.
The team, under tutelage of seasoned football tactician Hamisi Mohammed, tied 1-1 with KCB FC and posted another similar result against NSL side Dimba Patriots.
They also took KPL sides Kenya Police FC, Mathare United and Kariobangi Sharks FC head on in other thrilling encounters.
Their visit to Nairobi has turned out quite fruitful as some of their players have been scouted and could be on their way to the top tier leagues next season should amicable agreements are reached.
Kariobangi Sharks have expressed interest in Gerald Chingili and Omondi Junior while Kakamega Homeboyz have vouched for center backs Emmanuel Sikuku and Nester Orao.

Talanta FC have identified Stanley Waswa and Gibson Bwire while Darajani Gogo FC have declared interest on Sill Friday.
“The scouting marks a significant achievement for the players, many of whom hail from rural areas with limited access to professional football opportunities. We encourage all and sundry to give support to Joseph Lendrix Waswa in his bid to promote sports development in the grassroots,” Mohammed told Standard Sports.
Isaac Wanjekeche, Programs Director at the Joseph Lendrix Waswa Foundation, praised the initiative’s impact saying: “This program has given our youth a platform to shine. Seeing eight players scouted by KPL and NSL clubs is a testament to the success of this initiative.”
