MOMBASA, Kenya- Machakos Member of Parliament (MP) Caleb Mule was on fire as Kenya dismissed Burundi 64-37 in a tense basketball encounter held at Makupa Gymnasium in Mombasa at the ongoing East African Community Inter-Parliamentary Games.
Kenya won the first quarter 17-6 and the second 14-10 to take a 31-16 lead at the breather.
On resumption, the defending champs continued to crank the heat through Mule and Felix ‘Jalango’ Odiwuor who not only had great defensive skills, but formed a mixture of sharpshooters and dynamic playmakers charged with athleticism and skills.

Kenya bagged the third quarter 19-10 and the fourth 14-10 to carry the day with 64-37 win.
David Wakoli had a game high 18 points for the winners as Eli Letipila added 16. Nkurunaga Fabrile of Burundi was the formidable player on the rivals side.
Mule attributed the victory to the team’s adequate preparations and the vibrant cheering squad who believed in the team.
” The game was good, no injuries. The fans also turned up in large numbers and this inspired our victory.
“I hereby call upon the spectators to turn out in large numbers on Monday to give us morale in our last encounter with Uganda,” Mule said.

Mule thanked National Assembly Speaker Hon. Moses Wetang’ula, Parliamentary Service Commissioner Hon Rachael Ameso and Clerk of the Senate Jeremiah Nyegenye for turning up to grace their match.
He also attributed good preparations, including training thrice a week as part of the factors bringing success to the team in the ongoing games.
“Hopefully, on Monday we lift the coveted gold,” underlined Mule.
