Kwale United Crowned Cheza Dimba National Champs As SportPesa Pumps Sh70 Million Into 2025 Tujiamini Initiative

NAIROBI, Kenya- Kwale United FC from Coast beat Eldoret FC 1-0 to be crowned SportPesa Cheza Dimba National champions at Dandora Stadium in Nairobi at the weekend.

At the same time, the gaming firm used the occasion to launch the second edition of the Tujiamini Initiative, pumping in Sh70 million into the project that seeks to inspire, motivate and harness sports talents across the country.

Galacticos FC from Central finished third in the tournament that was part of the 2025 Tujiamini Festival, after beating Kisumu City Stars 4-2 on post-match penalties.

Following their feats, the top three sides now get to upgrade their sponsorships on Tujiamini platform by another Sh100,000, Sh75,000 and Sh 50,000 respectively.

Other featured exhibition matches during the festivities involved SportPesa FC, SJAK FC, and Dandora Legends who took to the field, underscoring the vital role of community involvement in sports development.

The two ladies’ teams from the 2024 edition of Tujiamini campaign, Uhola Queens FC and Green Blades FC also got an opportunity to showcase the impact the sponsorship has granted them so far.

Earlier, the festival commenced with a heartening community outreach initiative in Dandora that saw a donation of Sh 500,000 worth of vital music production equipment to Ndoto Zetu Studios, an organization that provides after-school mentorship and talent development for children in the community.

The official launch of the new structure and vision for Tujiamini 2025 revealed that community owned and led projects would take precedence as the Gold category award every month with a Sh1 Million allocation, 3 silver winners bagging Sh300,000 in awards, 50 bronze winners, each receiving a Sh 10,000 worth of support while the grassroot teams will earn a 3 years’ Cheza Dimba sponsorship in their quest to go up the promotion ladder.

Speaking during the well-attended national tournament that brought together over 300 exceptionally talented grassroots football players from across Kenya, SportPesa CEO, Ronald Karauri affirmed the company’s renewed commitment to supporting talent sustainably.

“This platform offers these young sportsmen and women an unparalleled opportunity to showcase their skills on a national stage, attracting the attention of our Kenya Premier League sponsored teams and other international scouts seeking promising prospects,” stated Karauri.

Adding a special touch to the weekend festivities, the past Tujiamini Gold winners from the regions across the country and the gaming product-based winners were earlier treated to a day of fun and camaraderie as they went on an adventure. This served as a well-deserved reward for their achievements, allowing them to relax and celebrate before embracing the opportunities that Tujiamini 2025 brings.

Building on the significant impact of Tujiamini 2024, which positively impacted over 750 participants and 11 regional grassroots football teams, the 2025 edition promises to amplify its reach and impact. Tujiamini 2025 is poised to build upon the successes of previous years and further its commitment to community empowerment and other talent ecosystem development
