Kabras Sugar Secure Fourth Consecutive Enterprise Cup Title, Completing Unbeaten Domestic Season

NAIROBI, Kenya– Kabras Sugar have completed their second unbeaten domestic season in Kenya, defeating eternal rivals KCB Rugby 32-20 at the RFUEA Grounds to win the 2024 Enterprise Cup, having already claimed the Kenya Cup league title two months ago.
This victory places Kabras among an elite group of four teams, namely record champions Nondescripts, Eldoret, and Impala, who have won the Enterprise Cup four or more times since its inception in 1930.
Kabras started strong, with youngster Humphrey Asiligwa scoring the opening try, converted by Ntabeni Dukisa, giving them a 7-0 lead after just three minutes.
KCB responded with a penalty from Elvis Namusasi, making it 7-3, but two penalties from Dukisa extended Kabras’ lead to 13-3.
Namusasi added another penalty before being sent off for a dangerous tackle on Kabras fullback Eric Cantona as the half ended 13-6 with Kabras in the lead.
Veteran Shaban Ahmed, coming on as a second-half replacement, revitalized KCB’s attack and scored a try, converted by Festus Shiasi, narrowing the score to 20-13 as the 14-man KCB chased the game. Kenya U20 international James Olela then scored for Kabras, pushing the lead to 25-13.
Olela’s Kenya U20 counterpart, Michael Wamalwa, responded with a try, and Levy Amunga’s conversion brought the score to 25-20, keeping the game within reach for KCB.
Despite being a man down, KCB continued to fight, but Kabras capitalized on their full complement of players, with Dukisa converting Eugene Sifuna’s try to seal a 32-20 victory.
This triumph marked Kabras’ fourth Enterprise Cup win, following victories in 2019, 2022, and 2023.
Earlier, the Zetech Oaks won the third division KRU Nationwide finals, defeating TUM Marines 31-13 to secure promotion to the second-tier KRU Championship
