Nduva Sets Pace In PGK’s Ruiru Challenge

RUIRU, Kenya- Daniel Nduva set down the marker as the Professional Golfers of Kenya’s Equator Tour teed off with the Ruiru Challenge at the Par 73 Ruiru Sports Club.

As the PGK made history with its own-managed tour for the first time in its history, it was Nduva’s flawless back 9 that highlighted day one. Turning at 1 under par , Nduva birdied three of the next five holes , before an eagle, birdie , par finish set the tone for the rest of the field.

On a day where the field went low with 23 players playing below par, Nduva will have five players starting one shot adrift on day 2 of the Kenya Shillings 1.5 million event.

National Junior team captain Junaid Manji -the only amateur in the field-showcased his potential with a 4 under par score to sit 3 shots off the leader.

The Ruiru challenge is the first of the twelve events in the Equator Tour calendar and players will be competing to earn order of merit points in the race to qualify for the Magical Kenya Open.
